Ministry with children and young people at Christ Church
Some resources for you to do at home with your young people.
Due to Covid-19 prohibiting us from meeting face to face, we have tried to cater for each of our groups; to fit the respective ages and the specific needs for the children and young people; to learn and have fun in a safe and secure environment. All the times, dates, and ages are displayed below with a short description of the group and what will be taking place during the sessions.
Age group: 0 -5 years (i.e.: up to end of school year 1)
This group is for children aged 0-5, meeting during the 10.45am service on Sundays. Each week the group partake in Bible stories and action songs covering a different theme. Parents are encouraged to sit with their children during these sessions.
Age group: 5 – 11 years (school years 2 – 6 )
This group is for children in primary school-aged 5-11 years old, meeting during the 10.45am Sunday services. At Xplore we will share stories with one another, play games, sing songs, listen to Bible stories, and make crafts.
Please note, that when making craft it is the parent’s responsibility to ensure that their child is safe. During Xplore sessions there will be a minimum of 5 leaders present to make sure the session is enjoyable and safe for each child present.
Age group 11 + years (school years 7 – 13 )
this group is for young people in years 7 – 13 of secondary school, meeting at 7:30 pm-9:00 pm on Wednesdays. During this group we will play games, watch a video and then discuss questions based on the video we have watched. Videos are all based around issues that young people may be facing during this current environment of Covid-19, such as fear and anxiety, making wise choices, and improving friendships. There will be a minimum of 2 leaders present during each session.
